The Joy Bus Meal Delivery Program

The Joy Bus is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving quality of life for homebound cancer patients by eradicating patient malnutrition and improving mental health factors. We do this by delivering a fresh, medically-tailored meal, social support, and essential nutrition education each week at NO COST to our clients.

Our organization was founded in 2011 by Jennifer Caraway after her good friend Joy was
diagnosed with an aggressive form of ovarian cancer. Joy’s drive and determination in the face of suffering and even death continues to inspire us and teach us the soul-healing powers of a hot, delicious meal and a compassionate, smiling face.

The Joy Bus Meal Delivery Program is an entirely unparalleled program in the Phoenix area. Our meals are delivered each week by a compassionate volunteer in eco-friendly, chemical-free packaging. We are fortunate to have the support of local farms, such as Crooked Sky Farms, that provide fresh, organic, non-GMO produce for the preparation of our client’s meals. Tucked into each paper bag that has been decorated by a community member is an informational sheet on the nutritional power of the ingredients used and how this will support their fight against cancer. To date, The Joy Bus Meal Delivery Program has provided over 6,000 meals to those fighting cancer in our community. The nutritional and psychological outcomes of this program are significant, ultimately improving clients’ quality of life in the face of a devastating disease.

Jews and Gentiles Golf Tournament

The Joy Bus is honored to be chosen as the benefitting charity for this year’s Jew and Gentiles Golf Tournament!

The Joy Bus DinerTM is a 100% nonprofit restaurant that’s helping make our Valley a tastier, happier place, one meal at a time. Serving hearty, made-to-order breakfast and lunch fare every Tuesday – Sunday from 7am – 2pm, every cent earned will be used to support The Joy Bus, a local charity that’s been bringing chef-inspired meals and caring conversations to cancer patients Valley-wide.

We were approached earlier this year by two local golfers who hold an annual tournament and choose a lucky recipient to be the benefactor of their work. Last year, they raised over $14,000 for the family of a local high schooler who had been diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. What an incredible gift to give to someone who has suffered the financial burden that can come along with a cancer diagnosis.

As this years chosen non-profit, we are humbled, excited and and in need of your
assistance. One aspect of the tournament is a silent auction and raffle. We are outreaching to you, friends of Joy Bus, members of our community, seekers and doers of all things good, to consider participating as well.

We are seeking the following types of donations for the tournament:

* Hole sponsorships
* Auction and raffle prizes

And if you are a golfer and looking for a great time, benefitting an incredible non-profit,
consider signing up to play. Below is a link to the tournament site. Donation items and
sponsorship questions can be fielded by our sponsors, Scott Lefkowitz and Phil Snyder.

We appreciate your support!
