Please join us in welcoming our newest Board member, Mike Hawthorne to The Joy Bus Board of Directors! Mike will be joining us as Board Treasurer and we are very thankful for the impressive amount of financial experience that he brings to the table!
Michael Hawthorne is a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years of experience in government and private practice. He retired in 2017 from the Arizona Department of Corrections as its Chief Financial Officer after a 30-year career with the State of Arizona. He’s currently self-employed with a tax preparation practice. He has an undergraduate degree in Business from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, an MBA from Western International University in Phoenix, and is a member of the Arizona Society of CPAs. He’s been a resident of Phoenix since 1985, and lives with his partner, Tony, and their three dogs.
