Phoenix Magazine’s Dish Fest 2023

March 5th, 2023.

The Joy Bus and a group of nearly 15 of the most helpful volunteers attended Dish Fest 2023. Jennifer and a small yet highly elite team set up a merchandise table and a prep station to prepare Creamy Hummus with Kashmiri Lamb to be served to the guests. While Jennifer and The Joy Bus team prepared delicious meals and spread the word of our mission the volunteers helped make sure the event ran smoothly. Taking out trash, delivering ice, and filling in at booths that needed the extra help were all jobs mastered by Joy Bus volunteers.

Volunteer of the Month – Rob Muller

Our #VolunteeroftheMonth for February is the amazing Rob Muller! Rob is thrilled to be here and help The Joy Bus in any way he can and we are so appreciative of his time and talents. He not only delivers meals to the people with cancer that we serve but here’s a juicy secret: Rob is the ONLY person on this planet that Jennifer Caraway trusts to prepare her signature red chile sauce with perfect execution every single week.

Volunteer of the Month – Trish Muir

I really see it as a very worthwhile compassionate cause and I also believe God asked me to serve in this manner.  My patients have been wonderful and gracious, and I humbly serve them and keep them in my prayers as well. I am so thankful for being able to serve such an amazingly altruistic charity, such as Joy Bus. Their generosity and care is admirable and I’m so thankful for this opportunity and the beautiful team I serve with each and every week… we have such camaraderie! May God bless, theJoy Bus, our sweet patients and my team.😊🙏❤️

Volunteer of the Month – Bonnie Cohn

When Bonnie was asked why she volunteers with The Joy Bus:

“Why not give back? Why not come back to a place that I can give back to and for a very good reason? And meet wonderful people who I can aspire to be like?

I want to do this for the rest of my life.” 💜

Volunteer of the Month – Tina Vogel

“As a 19 year cancer survivor I feel it is important to me to give back to the community. The Joy Bus feels like a perfect fit for me. I enjoy meeting and chatting with the men and women that I have been delivering to. Some of women ask me when they see my breast cancer pin how long I’ve been in remission and how they hope for that themselves. It’s such a joy to talk to them!” – Tina
