Volunteer of the Month – Tara South

“Helping others is one of my biggest passions.  I love the mission of JoyBus, and look forward to the weekly deliveries of fresh and nutritious meals to our homebound cancer patients.  Seeing their smiles and hearing their stories always brighten my day.  I’m grateful to have found and support such a wonderful organization!” – Tara

“After I retired I wanted to do something that helped others and made me feel good. I knew about the Joy Bus from my daughter Sarah who is Jennifer’s friend and was anxious to help out any way I could. The chance to bring some happiness to a cancer patient’s life with great food and company is good for my soul. So although I volunteer to help this excellent non-profit and the people to whom I deliver meals, it makes me feel good and joyful as well. Thanks for allowing me to help.” – Lynne Newman

“I volunteer for The Joy Bus because I truly believe in and identify with their mission.  As one of the primary caretakers of a loved one who fought and ultimately lost their battle with cancer, I can honestly say that the lift The Joy Bus provides to its meal recipients and their families during the treatment process is invaluable.  There is so much thought and care that goes into this service – from sourcing the most beautiful, quality ingredients right down to the amazing humans who take the time to do the meal deliveries.  It is all very humbling.  I am honored to help raise much needed and deserved funds for this awesome organization so that it can grow and help even more people within our community who are in need!” – Amanda
